President's Message 8/23/2007 Dear Kipps Families, Welcome back to those of you returning to Kipps and a huge welcome to those of you that are new this year! I am excited about serving as your PTA president. My name is Lynn Graves-Jacomen and some of you may know me already. I began my teaching career at Kipps when it first opened in 1994. I taught first and second grades here until 2002. I have three wonderful daughters, Carley, who went off to Blacksburg Middle this year, Leah, who will be in 4th grade, and Norah, a busy two year old and a future Kipps’ Kid. My husband, Royce Jacomen, teaches fifth grade and loves being a Kipps’ teacher. So as you can see, Kipps is our second home and is truly a family we are proud to be a part of. PTA’s primary goal is to enrich the lives of the children and their families in a positive environment within the community. We feel our multiple programs, within the school day as well as after school hours, and our community outreach certainly meet this goal. We encourage your participation in as much as possible. Please check out our Programs planned for this year. You can also look for our PTA newsletters to come home each month providing you with an updated schedule. We welcome and appreciate any and all feedback and hope that Kipps feels like a second home to all of you. Please feel free to send any suggestions, questions, or comments you may have regarding PTA to president@kippspta.org.
